Set against the backdrop of a private residence in Fitzroy, this black tie dinner exuded an irresistible allure. The expansive loft, once owned by Melbourne's renowned restaurateur Mietta, still boasts an impressive array of artworks from its previous inhabitants' private collection. Drawing inspiration from this rich history, we infused the evening with a decadent yet playful ambiance, incorporating quirky-chic styling elements. Picture oversized Milan gold baskets chandelier resting on the floor as though they had tumbled from the ceiling, vintage furniture strategically placed throughout the space, and carefully placed spotlights accentuating the artworks. Adding to the whimsy, young ballerinas from the National Ballet School Australia delighted guests with a game of hide-and-seek before captivating them with a mesmerising dance routine, revealing the grand dining room. The exceptional candlelit dinner menu, designed by Andrew McConnell, tantalised the senses, while the night concluded with gimlets, millesime champagne, and the rhythmic beats of a dapper trio of DJs.
